This range of standard pre-made halyards has been designed to make replacing halyards on your sailing boat quick and simple. They come in three standard colours: grey, navy blue and red.
This is a performance specification for a 1:1 forward halyard (genoa / spinnaker) made from Powersprint, from Italian rope makers Gottifredi Maffioli, with an SK78 Dyneema® core and durable polyester cover. At the cockpit end, it is finished with a Flemish eye (to simplify running halyards through the mast) and at the working end it has a covered eye splice plus a Ronstan Triggersnap, for connection to your sail. This 8mm diameter x 25m long halyard is recommended for use on masts with an “I” measurement of between 8 – 10m. However, due to variations in cockpit setups, we suggest you double check the appropriate length for your own boat.
We use the following formulae for 1:1 genoa / spinnaker halyard length:
2.1 * I (Isp) + [distance from mast to halyard winch] + 2m
It is better to have a halyard 2-3m too long than too short!
