Rutgerson Battcar Slide 11mm x 24mm with M10 Thread (E-Gate)
The Rutgerson E-Gate Battcar Slide is designed to make a fully battened mainsail easier to hoist and lower while requiring minimal maintenance. Its special E-Gate configuration and large 24mm wheels are designed for compatible mast sections with a particular sail-entry gate geometry.
This model was developed specifically for the Sparcraft S137 and S180 mast profiles. The Sparcraft S180 is used on the Beneteau First 31.7. Compatibility should be confirmed from the exact mast-section reference before ordering, as the E-Gate designation relates to the mast-track and entry-gate arrangement—not simply the slide width or wheel diameter.
The Battcar is manufactured in Marstrand, Sweden, using high-strength composite and stainless steel. It has an 11mm wide slide profile, 24mm diameter wheels and a stainless-steel M10 threaded adaptor. The 30mm attachment slot provides a secure connection to compatible Rutgerson batten fittings.
The M10 threaded attachment is compatible with Rutgerson batten fittings 1580, 1587, 1590, 1595, 1596 and 1597.
Boat size, sail area, rig configuration and expected loads should also be considered when selecting a Battcar. Rutgerson publishes approximate breaking loads of 575kg in push and 350kg in pull for this model; these figures are breaking loads and must not be treated as safe working loads.
