Harken 40mm Carbo Air T2 Single Block
The Harken 40mm Carbo Air T2 Single Block is a compact, lightweight soft-attach block designed for high-performance running rigging systems. As part of Harken’s Carbo Air T2 range, it uses a fully composite construction that eliminates metal shackles and rivets, reducing weight while maintaining impressive strength and durability.
This standard T2 single block is supplied with a length of high-strength lashing line, allowing sailors to splice, tie or lash the block directly onto deck hardware, padeyes or rigging points. This style of attachment creates a secure and very low-profile connection, making it ideal where blocks are intended to remain in place as part of a more permanent rigging setup.
With a 40mm sheave running on low-friction bearings, the block handles lines up to 10mm and offers smooth, efficient operation under load. Despite weighing just 25g, the block delivers a maximum working load of 220kg, making it suitable for a wide range of control line systems on dinghies and sailing yachts.
The soft-attachment design allows the block to align naturally with the load, reducing friction and improving efficiency in cascades, traveller controls, vangs and other lightly loaded running rigging applications. Compared with the T2 Loop version, this model is better suited to installations where a fixed lashing connection is preferred over quick on/off attachment.
