Standing rigging
Standing rigging is the structural stays which hold the mast upright in the sailboat. Traditionally they have been wire or rod but increasingly composite rigging is found to offer major weight savings. Backstays are a relatively quick and simple changeout and from wire to composite rigging, and a good first step.
