Tylaska T5 Martin Breaker – Standard Bail Snap Shackle
The Tylaska T5 Martin Breaker is the smallest model in the Martin Breaker range, designed specifically for boats in the 20–30 ft size bracket. Built from aerospace-grade 17-4 PH stainless steel and 100% proof-tested to its working load, it combines compact dimensions with outstanding strength and reliability.
The Martin Breaker system transforms the traditional trigger snap shackle into a remote-release unit, using a Dyneema® cord (pre-installed) to activate the release mechanism under load. This allows the tack of a spinnaker to be ejected instantly from a safe position—typically from the cockpit—removing the need for crew to move forward and manually “spike” the shackle on the bowsprit.
With a breaking load of 5,000 lb (2,270 kg), the T5 is perfectly suited to performance dinghies, sportsboats, and smaller keelboats where weight savings and safety are equally important. The standard swivelling bail provides versatile attachment while helping to reduce line twist, making it a reliable choice for spinnaker sheets, tack lines, or other static-load release applications.
