Harken Digital System Switch — Black, 1/2 Buttons

The Harken Digital System Switch — Black, 1/2 Buttons (DSDBK1-ND) is a dual-function digital control switch designed for first- and second-speed operation of compatible Harken electric winches. Two illuminated buttons marked 1 and 2 provide both winch-speed controls within a single compact switch, replacing the two separate switches required when using Harken analogue controls.

Manufactured in durable black polyamide resin, the DSDBK1-ND provides the same digital 1/2 speed control functionality as the stainless-steel DSDSS1-ND, but in a lightweight black housing and at a lower price point.

New Harken electric Radial, Performa and captive winches are supplied with the appropriate dual-function control box. To complete the electric winch installation, a correctly rated circuit breaker and suitable controls must be ordered separately.

There are two control options for a two-speed winch:

• Analogue control: two Harken analogue switches are required, one for each winch speed.
• Digital control: one dual-function Harken Digital System Switch with 1/2 buttons provides both first- and second-speed control.

The Harken dual-function control box supports either analogue switches or Digital System Switches. Analogue and digital switches should not be mixed on the same control box.

Digital Control with Built-In Safeguards

Harken's Digital System Switch incorporates additional safeguards compared with a conventional analogue control. The waterproof control buttons translate electrical commands into binary code, with the signals verified by the system decoder before operation is permitted.

Two command switches beneath each control button must also operate in unison before a signal is sent. Harken additionally protects the watertight seals from direct exposure, helping prevent deterioration through sunlight and prolonged use.

The switch is designed to resist impact, wear and abrasion, while integrated illumination improves visibility of the 1 and 2 buttons in low-light conditions.

Black 1/2 Speed Control

The DSDBK1-ND combines both winch-speed commands into one space-saving control. The 1 button controls first speed and the 2 button controls second speed, providing intuitive two-speed winch operation from a single switch location.

This model features Harken's black polyamide resin housing and weighs just 120 g. For installations where a premium metallic finish is preferred, the corresponding DSDSS1-ND stainless-steel Digital System Switch provides the same 1/2 button functionality in stainless steel.

Please note: one dual-function 1/2 Digital System Switch is required per control position. The appropriate circuit breaker and other required electrical components are ordered separately. Circuit breaker selection depends on winch size and system voltage.
