KOHLHOFF LOOP® Hanks are a lightweight, simple, fast and effective solution for attaching sails to the forestay. Available in a variety of lengths to suit most applications, KOHLHOFF LOOP® Hanks are made from Gottifredi Maffioli's DSK75 Compact Braid which is exceptionally strong, resistant to abrasion and does not cause damage to the sail. The hanks come with a lightweight and durable webbing closure to ensure secure terminations. The webbing is supplied separately and requires hand-sewing onto the shackle once the hank has been put through the eye of the sail. An alternative option would be to use a standard Double Loop Shackle which does the same job as a Loop Hank and is quick to install. However, the benefit of the Hank over a standard shackle is that once sewn, it is securely attached to the sail whereas the standard Double Loop Shackle can fall off the sail when not in use.
