Spinlock BRS 50mm – Mobile Block with Locking Cam
The Spinlock BRS 50mm is a mobile jammer block designed for fast, reliable attachment anywhere on board. Sometimes described as a “floating” block, this simply means it is not permanently fixed to the deck and can be moved to wherever you need an extra turning point. Using the flexible webbing strop rather than a fixed foot or becket, the BRS can be looped around stanchion bases, padeyes, boom sections, toe rails, or other suitable strong points in seconds. This versatility makes it ideal for sailors who need temporary leads without adding permanent deck fittings.
A pivotal feature of the BRS design is its integrated locking cam stopper. Once the line is led through the 50mm sheave, the cam offers additional holding power when needed, allowing sailors to temporarily lock or control a loaded line without reaching for a dedicated cleat or clutch. This is particularly useful for asymmetric spinnaker sheets, barber haulers, headsail tweakers, preventers, and reefing lines on cruising yachts and performance boats.
