Karver Reef Hooks became very popular in the French Offshore racing fleets providing a very simple, lightweight, reliable reef locking solution. Used in conjunction with a Dyneema strop at each reef point on the leach of the main, a control line is used to guide the strop into the hook, where the load holds the hook in the locked position. To release, lower the main and use a second control line to capsize the hook and release the strop. (Control lines not included)
