The Harken 57mm Low Load Block with Becket (3229) is a specialised member of the Black Magic® Air range, designed for big boat control systems where free-running performance and rigging flexibility are needed without the demands of full high-load capacity. Perfect for mainsheet, halyard, and spinnaker applications, this block features an integrated becket for clean terminations in tackle and cascade systems.
Internally, Torlon® roller bearings run within a centre cage that keeps them aligned and evenly spaced, ensuring low-friction sheave rotation even under moderate tension. The block is easily identified as a low-load version by its red isolators, and it uses a 316 stainless steel shackle instead of the high-load standard’s 17-4 PH stainless headpost.
Hard Lube-anodised aluminium sheaves and sideplates offer maximum UV protection and durability, while the shackle head can either swivel or be locked in two positions to suit different line angles and rigging configurations.
