The Harken 57mm High Load Padeye Teardrop Block (3223) from the Black Magic® Air series is engineered for installations where limited articulation and direct attachment are key — such as masthead halyard leads or permanent backstays on fractionally rigged boats. When used with a compatible padeye, this teardrop-shaped block ensures the line stays fair while keeping the block from contacting the deck when slack.
Its compact design delivers maximum strength and smooth operation under extreme loads. The Hard Lube-anodised sideplates and sheave provide excellent UV resistance and a refined, low-friction surface, while Torlon® roller bearings, housed in a precision centre cage, reduce friction by keeping rollers aligned and separated — ideal for applications under constant or repeated load.
This block also lends itself well to spliced-backstay terminations, allowing a clean, streamlined rig with minimal hardware. Whether aloft or on deck, the 3223 is built to perform reliably in critical, high-load systems.
