The Antal 4Race Maxi Outhaul Car 2:1 is a high-capacity outhaul car for yachts from 48–60 ft, delivering exceptional strength and smooth operation within a compact track system. Although part of the 4Race Maxi range, it is a unique model in that it runs on the standard 31×21 mm 4Race track (ref: 4510) with end stops ref: 4271/B, rather than the larger Maxi tracks used across most of the series.
With a Safe Working Load (SWL) of 2800 kg, this car provides a substantial performance increase over the 190 model, making it ideal for larger yachts carrying high mainsail loads. Built from hard black anodised aluminium with stainless steel side plates, it incorporates four rows of Torlon® and Delrin® ball bearings for consistently smooth, low-friction movement under maximum tension.
The car is fitted with a forward becket and aft sheave, creating an efficient 2:1 outhaul purchase. In operation, the outhaul line is dead-ended on the forward becket, led through a block at the mainsail clew, returned to the car’s ball-bearing sheave, and then runs aft along the boom. This arrangement halves the trimming load, while the car’s bearing system ensures easy, precise adjustment.
